Rimmel London Apocalips Review

Sunday 8 December 2013

Aloha,

A day late, but better than never. I did say I would try and do a blog post yesterday but it turned out I had a busy day. And then today, we had a christmas party at my dads and there was a lot of people and screaming children and just oh, overheating in my christmas jumper! So, I am only now getting around to writing this. (Whilst watching X-men: First Class -Jennifer Lawrence (perfection) wow)

I bought the Apocolips a few weeks ago just to try it out and for something different. Although its christmas time, I bought it in '400 Big Bang' which is a bright red. Normally for winter I would wear a dark lipstick, like a plum. But red is a christmas related colour so, who cares.

The liquid lipstick, last's for such a long time but I also find that it kind of stains your lips. Therefor, if I don't apply it correctly the first time (as I normally don't) I will walk around like a clown until it fades away.

When applied I find it goes a bit matte as well as having a tiny bit shine to it. When on the lips, it doesn't fully dry which means it is very easily smudged when coming into contact with things. I often find I run it all over my face. I don't even know how.  They are available in another several different colours; Apocaliptic, Big Bang, Nova, Stellar, Galaxy, Celestial, Luna and Nude Eclipse.

Overall, I think that the apocalips products are fantastic. The packaging is lovely and the colours are great also. I would recommend them.

Thanks for reading, Im sorry about the lateness of this post and the fact that my last ones have been so crappy. I promise to try and do better. -Lauryn xo

Christmas Time...

Wednesday 4 December 2013

Aloha,

So sorry about the lateness of the post, I was at work yesterday so I never got around to it. Although when I finished work I did put up christmas decorations in my room. Although it's not a lot, I wanted to share it.

Today in college we sold craft things such as christmas decor and cakes which we have been making for our second term assignment.

Thanks for reading this very very short blog post. Hopefully I will be doing another on saturday. Fingers crossed.

Everyday Hair..

Tuesday 26 November 2013

Aloha,

38 days! I have the Christmas album on right now whilst preparing to go finally see 'Catching Fire' and for a Nandos! Yum!

Anyways, this week is how I do my everyday messy/natural look hair. I start by washing my hair in the shower the night before with Herbal Essence's Tousle Look shampoo and conditioner. I always leave my  hair to dry naturally if I have washed it on a night because heat really damages it and it goes really fluffy.
Before Brushing
After Brushing

The next morning, I will give it a quick brush with my tangle teezer or princess hairbrush and give it a generous skirt of Fudge Urban Sea Salt spray. Which gives my hair texture and 'beach hair'. Quickly after just applying this to my hair, I then flip my head and hair around very crazily and grab all of my hair and scrunch it up and then just drop it so it looks like messy waves. Because the hold on the sea salt spray is not very lasting, I then follow it up with the Texture Blast spray also from Fudge Urban. The texture blaster is very firm so I only use the tiniest amount other wise it practically cements your hair together.

And that finishes my daily hair routine, which basically means I can't really be bother to do anything creative with my hair today.

My Weekend...

Tuesday 19 November 2013

Aloha!

I had quite a festive (busy) days at the weekend. So I documented it with pictures. And it went a little like this...

Saturday...

Saturday started off with my usual driving lesson, then a trip to Newcastle to visit the Boohoo Bus accompanied by Emily. Any one registered with Boohoo.com will know the bus has been travelling around the UK, offering vouchers, free make up and nails done & more. Truthfully, it was not what I had expected... yet still good. After about 10 minutes on the very over crowded bus, me and Emily headed down to the Christmas Market at monument where we  drooled over all the foreign foods (churro's and crepes!) for about half and hour until the Noodle bar re-opened so we could get some dinner. We also met Iron Man!! (By the way, I love Iron Man! Robert Downey Jr

Sunday...

Sunday consisted of sleeping until around 11 am, then a quick dress to go out for a Sunday Carvery lunch (yumm) with my Dad and his amazing partner Sam, brother and two sisters. A trip to Asda then back to my dads before going to see my Grandpa. One of my most favourite, whitty person ever. He is so cute! As we were leaving my Grandpa's me and Kayla (youngest sister) were messing around taking pictures with the fallen leaves.

Sunday Night...

On sunday night, I went to the Durham Lumiere (lights). It was pretty but cold and wet. The Cathedral with light up with images form the Bible (I think, maybe?) and a British phone box filled with water and goldfish. A giant elephant on Elvet Bridge and recycled plastic bag lights and tree.

Thanks for reading! Hopefully I can give a more interesting post next week.

Winter Makeup Tutorial..

Tuesday 5 November 2013

Aloha!

Welcome November! One month closer to Christmas! I have just learnt how to knit and Im currently trying to make a scarf, therefor it is christmas time! Today I have a winter make up tutorial since I'm off to a bonfire night tonight to celebrate Guy Fawkes and it is winter and freezing!!

The first thing I start with is washing my face, using Simple Moisturising Facial Wash. Followed by the Simple Moisturising Cream. I also apply my rosebud salve to moisturise my very very dry lips ready for lipstick at the end. Once a week I also exfoliate my skin with the Simple Exfoliating face wipes.
A prepared face.

From that stage I apply my foundation. The foundation i am using at the moment is the new L'oreal Nude Magique Eau De Tint. It is a very light liquid foundation. Normally I would use a brush to apply my foundation but because of how liquify (runny) this is I apply little bits to my finger tip and apply it like that. Once all my face is evenly covered, I then apply Collections Concealer to my under eyes and any necessary place for the extra little coverage. I normally use the Real Techniques dark shadow brush to dab it on and evenly spread.

Foundation and Concealer Done.

Moving onto my eyes. The first thing I do is primer my eyelids with the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion and also use the same brush as the concealer one, to spread it out. The three colours I use for my winter look is Sin, Toasted and Hustle. All three colours from the Naked Palette. Starting with Sin, I use the brush that comes with the palette and put it all over my eye lid, but no higher than the crease. After that, I take a one of my Frauline 58 eye shadow brushes and apply Toasted into the crease of my eye lid then Blend it with a different Frauline 58 brush. Taking a different smaller Frauline 58 brush I then add Hustle the outer side of my eye lid. Again blending with the before Frauline 58 brush.
Sin, Toasted and Hustle

After my eyeshadow is done I then add mascara and eyeliner. The mascara I am currently using is the Soap and Glory Thick and Fast and the MUA Liquid Waterproof Eyeline. Additionally, I also fill in my eyebrows with Betty Br-WOW! Using the Shadow like filler. I tend to give my eyebrow's structure there for use a very titled brush.

Finished Eyes.

Having finished my eyes I then quickly brush over with Collection's Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Powder. It keep everything in place. I use the Real Techniques Stippling Brush for this.

I don't like to go totally over on blusher so I only add a little bit of my Naked Blusher for a rosy cheek affect with the Real Techniques Blush Brush.

]

And the very last thing I do is add my Lipstick. I feel the YSL one is appropriate for winter because it has the Dark winter look about it.

And that's all to my Winter Makeup Tutorial. I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and have a great Bonfire night! Thanks for reading! -Lauryn xo
