Moisturiser's Review

Tuesday 22 October 2013

Aloha!

I love my skin feel hydrated and soft and just nice. I mean, nobody really wants rough skin. (Well, in my opinion). I really have so many moisturisers it's unreal! But anyways..

Body Moisturiser's

The first body moisturiser that I really love is the Garnier Body: intensive 7 Days nourishing lotion in softening cocoa butter. Garnier have quite a lot of moisturisers, all of them having a different purpose. The Cocoa Butter one which I have, is for softening dry, rough skin. Normally I find when, I have had a shower and I am getting dried my legs and well everywhere basically gets really dry. So I found that using the Garnier Body after being in the shower really works for me. I personally find it a really good investment because it is cheap and works well, absorbs really quickly (I hate waiting for my moisturiser to soak in) and smells great. I don't actually find the cocoa smell overpowering but for those who are not really a fan of the cocoa smell, I think it may be a little over powering. I think you can also get it in different scents, like aloe vera.  I would definitely give it 5/5!

Soap and Glory are a great body care/beauty brand. I have soooo... many of their bath/body products. Like seriously I have got so many bottles of the shower gel and moisturisers to get through.  I swear I'm constantly receiving soap and glory gift bag (things).  But anyways, another body moisturiser I enjoy using is Soap and Glory Smoothie Star Deep Moisture Body Milk. (mouthful). My normal routine with this is to put it on in a morning when I wake up before doing my makeup (because I shower the night before). On the bottle it says to rub on the shoulders, knee's and shins after having a shower but I put it everywhere (naughty). I put it everywhere because its a great softening lotion without thick feeling. Although I do not particularly like the smell of it (Almond, Cocoa, Yoghurt, Oat and Honey) , it does suit it's purpose.  I would give this a 4/5.

The final body moisturiser is the Dove Summer Glow Nourishing Lotion. I find this moisturiser is great The summer glow smells really nice! (exceptionally nice for a fake tanning product) and does give a nice glowing colour when developed. Having said that, it is really difficult to get even coverage because of the late devlopment. I'm not sure if it is just me but sometimes it will work really well and others it is really streaky and just uneven. It is available for different skin tones yet I would not say it is entirely worth the cost. I think I would have to give it a 2/5.

Facial Moisturiser's

The first face moisturiser that I really love is the Garnier Skin Naturals: Essentials Hydrating Day Care. The cream makes my skin feel so soft even though I am prone to dry skin (especially in my T-zone area). I've used this particularly moisture cream and handful of times and I have found it really works on dry skin. I would normally apply it on a night leaving it to work its magic and then on a morning wash it off with my simple facewash. I do find it is quite a heavy moisture and can take a while to properly soak in and does have a thick feel to it. It smells great (of roses to be particular) and was a reasonable cost. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with dry skin.  Therefor I give it a 4/5.

My all time favourite face moisturiser has to be the Simple: Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser. I think this may be my most favourite product in the whole world at the moment. This has "worked wonders" for my skin. It is amazing how well this works but also works with the Simple face wash (I actually just typed fash and was like 'oh that's not right, I just made a word up'). Yeah, So I really love simple's products. They are all very wow. The light moisture absorbs very quickly and does it purpose but also provides you skin the the 'Vitamins and Skin Loving Ingredients' it needs. Although it does not have a particular scent it lasts for up to 12 hours and does not have any thick feel to it because it is super light.  5/5!

Im so happy today because Better Together -EP by Fifth Harmony came out! Check it out ok, its is amazing!

Collective Haul

Tuesday 15 October 2013

Aloha!

Well this week has been both good and bad. My nana has been in hospital so I was debating whether I should do a blog post this week or wait for a while but she is on the mend and I'm currently writing this while watching friends with her. Other than that, not much else has happened. So as told last week, I am doing a collective haul this week. All of the stuff has not been bought very recently. Most of it is like two weeks old-ish, if not older. But I really wanted to share some of the stuff I have bought and I will try link it all below.

Starting with Topshop, the first thing I bought was a ox blood velvet scrunchie, with wire bunny ears. This is such a cute accessory for a pony tail or half pony tail thing (I cant remember what its called- dont judge me).
Another hair accsesory I bought was a black velvet hairband with a big bow on it. I think this was kind of an impulse buy because I bought it because its so cute and Camila Cabello always pulls them
Off really well. I havent actually worn this yet, im still figuring out how to wear it and when to wear it.
Clothing wise from Topshop, I bought a grey burnout tee. Not going to lie, I bought this because I know Demi Lovato has one but also when I saw it in the store it felt so soft and is just a super cute item for a casual outfit. This was a price of £16 and they are available in a range of colours.

Also because the winter months are upon us, I bought a coat/jacket. I actually bought this nearer to the end of septemeber having had birthday money to spare.  This one is a quite heavy jacket in black, with a zip and zip pockets as well as clip button pockets. It also has faux leather (I think) on the elbows and a checkered lining in the hood. I think this was about £60 originally but I paid £45-ish. (Thanks to student discount and a Topshop voucher!)
The last things I have bought from Topshop are nail polishes.  Nice n Neutral (a nude pink), Lead (metallic blend of purple, black and green) and Light Brizzle (matte grey) are the three that I purchased.
Moving onto Topman, there has only been one item which I bought from there recently. I got a black and white baseball shirt in large so it is quite loose. I bought this because I got a red one from American Apparel last year for much more of an expensive price than what this one was in Topman. Also I got money off it at the student lock-in event.
Another coat I recently bought, was from Primark. It is a tweed oversized boyfriend coat! I instantly feel in love with this when I saw it and I actually think I may have just selected my size and went straight to the till. Oops! It has to rather large pockets on the front and a single button to fasten. I didn't really need another coat, considering I had just bought one about a week or two earlier, but who cares!
Also from primark, I bought this disney bed poncho. Its so cute! It has daisy duck on it, polka dots and bow anf yhe pockets are so cute! They have a little space for your thumb! In general its amazing! Its so soft and really comfy! I have not worn this yet because I'm saving it for my holiday to florida next year! (Yeyy!)
I was really desperate for some new jeans, so when I was in primark I picked up some of their skinny jeans! The first pair I picked up were a light shade of blue (quite like the joni jeans from topshop). But I havent actually got an image of them because I wore them today. Then a few days later I went back to primark and bought the same pair of jeans but in grey. I think I only paid around £10 for each pair of jeans which is quite reasonable in my opinion!
The last thing I picked up in primark was a thin knit top/jumper in a beige colour. This was a good buy because you need that extra warmth in the winter and these jumpers are a good way to do it.
The only jewellery piece that i have bought recently was this eagle necklace from Miss Selfridges. This was in the sale for about £3.50 and is just a nice statement piece for a simple outfit.
Shoes! I actually have not bought any shoes lately (suprise). However, I did buy some trainers. I want to take up running and get fit (loose weight) so I bought some (running) trainers. I was going to buy some of the Nike Roshee Run trainers but ended up changing my mind and buying some Black New Balance trainers! I actually think these are some of the comfiest shoe's I have ever bought! I paid £45 for these (although they were supposed to £60) thanks to the student lock-in!
The last buy that I wanted to share, was my Beyoncé shirt, which I bought at V-Festival in august! Its jusy fabulous so I had to put it in the haul!

That concludes everything I have bought in the past month or two! I hope 'ya'll' enjoyed and saw something you like. I am now pretty much spent up and the money I do have is for driving lessons. Any money I am getting now is being saved for christmas, florida funds and this amazing coat in primark (check it out in company or on my instagram) its beautiful!

What's in my bag?

Tuesday 8 October 2013

Aloha Hoaloha,
This past week has been so great. College is going really well (a lot of work though) but still really well in and in general has been great. Last Tuesday I went to a Student Lock-in and got some great stuff which I may do a post about next week as part of a Collective Haul (thoughts on this?). But for now I have a 'Whats in my bag' post for you guys. I will also try to add the links for certain items in the image description.

My everyday use bag is the H&M black handbag with a should strap. I personally think the bag looks a lot like the Zara City Office Girl Bag, but is better in price and more is sturdy. (If sturdy is what you like). It has a zip running across the top and also press studs on the side which allows the bag to become more spacious. (If you need it.) Although it is not  sectioned like the Zara bag, it does still have a zip pocket on the inside and two other pockets.  It is genuinely a great bag for the price of £29.99.
So the first thing I have in my bag is my college work. I normally carry my sketch pads or folders in a seperate bag (usually my primark canvas bag) just to even out the weight of my bags and so it doesn't damage my handbag (weight wise). One thing I do carry in my handbag though is my Minnie Mouse pencil case. It is full to the brim with pencils, pens, rubbers, scissors, glue, staplers and just any stationary you can think of really. I find it really helpful to have this on me at all times, because you never really know when you will need some scissors or a pen. Especially being a fashion and design student.

Memory Sticks are a must have! There is not one day in college that I have come across I havent used my memory stick. Most days I will forget my Sunderland College one because I have left it in my computer from doing work the night before. Which is why I carry my back up memory stick. I find saving work on both of the sticks is very handy if you have a terrible memory like me!

I always carry my glasses around (if I am not wearing them). I need to wear them for most parts of the day so it is best to always have them in my handbag.

iPhone chargers are always a great thing to carry around with you because if your like me and are constantly playing candy crush or listening to music on your phone, your battery dies so quickly. More than often I will find somewhere in college I can plug my phone in or if I am out and about I will find somewhere like Starbucks where I can quickly put my phone on charge while re-freshing with a Caramel Cream Frappuccino. Another handy thing to have it headphone. Although mine are very worn they are still great to have when your just getting on with some work in your own little work with your music. Or for bus journeys so I can listen to Demi Lovato, Oasis, Paloma Faith and so on..

My purse is another important thing in my handbag. My purse is from Asos and was about £15 I think. I normally keep paracetamols and my house key in my purse as well as cards and money.
Asos studded purse - http://www.asos.com//Asos/Asos-Zip-Around-Purse-With-Enamel-Stud/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=2902450
Important cards I keep in my purse are ones like my provision driving license, student card, bus pass, student discount card and my donor card. (my bank card also~ but only for emergencies).

As I mentioned before I always keep my house key in my purse because I find I always forget my house key and am locked out the one day I forget to take it. Having it in my purse means I (hopefully) don't loose it or forget it.

Other things I find are good to have with my are products like Garnier Mineral Deodorant, perfumes (ususally Marc Jacobs Daisy or Paco Rabanne Black XS), Hand Sanitizer and a lint roller (I always end up with threads all over me and the end of a college day)
Daisy By Marc Jacobs- http://www.theperfumeshop.com/fcp/product/fragrances/-/Daisy/2631?sku=1062967
Black XS by Paco Rabanne http://www.boots.com/en/Paco-Rabanne-Black-XS-for-Her-Eau-de-Toilette-50ml_48045/
Beauty products I have are normally lip balms like the Baby Lips (Cherry Me, Pink Punch or Peach Kiss)  or Rosebud Salve. I also like to have to different options of lipsticks so I always carry Rimmel London's Lasting Finish By Kate (Moss) in Kiss of Life (111) which is a matte red. I think was about £5. And the other is YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick in a dark plum burgundy colour. I always have a hair brush with me aswell. My hairbrush is super cute being Rupunzel. I also normally carry my Tangle Teezer. But I think I have left it at my dads (oopsies) having been there at the weekend. Tangle Teezers are great however and I would really recommend them to anyone who does not have one already! Mine is from Boots and is in pink costing £10.99

Having a jotta pad with me always is great because you are always given something to jot down in college. Wether it is homework or just notes from a class. It's a good idea to have a jotta pad handy.
Pukka Pad - http://www.staples.co.uk/paper-notebooks-cards/notebooks-pads/fashion-lifestyle/project-book-a4-pad
Im a big reader so if I have a free period or am on a bus journey alone, its great to be able to pull out a book and get lost in the world of fiction. The book I am currently reading is 'The Fault in our Stars' By John Green. I have already read this book but it is so good I just keep reading it. If you don't have any books to read you can always read a magazine. Vogue is the current magazine in my bag. It's a great read but also useful for college when looking for photography images or fashion illustrations.

So thats everything in my bag. It seems so much more writing it down than what it looks in my bag. I had some people on twitter ask for this post so I hope you guys like it. Next week Im hoping to do a collective haul post so that may be a little bit more interesting.

Thanks for reading guys!

Oh and sorry for the crappy pictures. I changed my bedding the other day so it doesn't look the same and I was kind of in a rush to take the photos! Apologies! x

Sephora Beauty Review

Tuesday 1 October 2013

Aloha Hoaloha,
This week's post is going to be a review on things I have beauty products from Sephora. The items I have got are what I have either bought for my self on a holiday where there is a Sephora store and a present from a friend or family member.

The first beauty product that has been amazing is the Naked pallet, by Urban Decay. If you have read mine previous August Favourites blog, then you will know that this is one of my favourite items at the moment. The pallet is so good! I chose the first naked pallet because I thought that all the colours in there were me. Each day, when getting ready I use the shadow pallet and use the colour I fancy wearing (today is Smog, Sidecar and a little bit of Dark Horse). There is not one colour in it that haven't used yet. I really recommend everyone to get! The brush that comes with the pallet is fabulous as well. (Such a soft brush!) The greatest thing about it though it that when you buy it, you receive a 'Eyeshadow Primer Potion' which is amazing! I found it keeps my eyeshadow looking great all day (which is great for me because I tend to play with my eyes a lot~ sounds so strange!). I would really recommend buying this to anyone who ask's and I definitely intend on buying Naked 2!

Naked Eyeshadow  Pallet
Another Urban Decay product I have, I only got yesterday as a present from my parents! (Thanks Guys) -Naked Flushed. WOW! So, even though I just got it yesterday its fabulous! It's a pallet that consist of bronzer, highlighter and blusher. All of which are very pretty colours! I have only used this once (today) but I have already fallen in love. The blusher looks really good on and works really well with the highlighter to give a lovely light pink shimmer. I have been looking for a really nice blusher/bronzer pallet for a while so it was great when my mam gave me this! (High Five Mam!). So thats another great Urban Decay product in my makeup bag!

Naked Flushed and Real Techniques Blusher brush

I am so excited about this next product. Its the most amazing product I have ever had in my whole life! Smiths Rosebud Salve is literally heaven in a pot! For those of you who don't know of it, It is the best Lip Balm/Salve ever, ever, ever. The first time I purchased a one of these was at the Sephora store in New York and I only got one having never used it before. When I got home all of my friends kept asking to use some, so as you can imagine it went very fast. And at first you couldn't buy them in the UK until a few years ago when House Of Fraser started selling them. (Yey) But at a price of £8. (Boo) Then when my mam was at America earlier in the year she bought about 3 tins for herself and none at all for me! (Not happy mother). So this time she made sure she got me a tin! Rosebud Salve is the bestest thing my lips have ever had contact with! It seriously works on chapped lips so well and keeps my lips so hydrated (Especially in the harsh British Winters!) I cannot express how much I love rosebud salve! I am definitely going to buy so many in America Next year!

Smiths Rosebud Salve
Urban Decay Black Market 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil Set is the next last thing I got off my parents from America. Anyone that knows me, knows I hardly ever go anywhere with out eyeliner. These ones are so great because they are long lasting and they come in a range of colours! (West, Black Market, Desperation, Riot, Apathy, Ink ~ They all sound so good!). So far I have only used the Black Market one. Its so nice! The great thing about it is that it goes on great! Normally when I used a eyeliner pencil it's really awkward and rough to put on, but this one is so smooth! (Thumbs up)

Urban Decay Eyeliner's
The final product is a gift from one of my best friends Handful Of Emily. Yves Saint Laurent lipstick in Rouge Volupte. It looks like a dark purple, kind of like The damned lipstick from Topshop but comes out darker on the lips. It is such a nice colour and suits my skin tone and hair colour really well. Credits to the woman in Sephora Italy that helped Emily pick it by giving a description of me! Its so nice one and feels almost silky! I really would recommend to anyone who loves lipsticks to buy this one!

YSL Rouge Volupte
Thats all from my Sephora beauty review (haul ~whatever you want to call it really). I love Sephora so much! I really wish they had a store in the North East of the UK. It would make life glorious! Although I can still order off there website but the shipping cost is incredibly expensive so I intend on not buying from their website.

Thankyou for reading!
