MY AUTUMN // WINTER OUTFIT ESSENTIALS

Thursday, 30 October 2014

Although Autumn is pretty much over now, I though I would talk you through my Autumn//Winter essentials. The items I am going to talk about I pretty much survive on in a day-to-day basis.

|| BLANKET CAPE ||

Blanket Capes are the thing to have in your wardrobe this year. They are the big trend at the moment and I am totally loving them. I find its not to hot to go out with a small jacket yet not absolutely freezing that you need a massive coat, scarf and gloves shebang. So I personally find the Blanket cape absolutely perfect! Its cosy and keeps you warm as well as making you look amazingly chic and very on trend. My Blanket cape is from Topshop and was about £30.

|| ANKLE BOOTS ||

Another bang on trend item for this Winter is the Ankle Boot. Whether you choose to go for a Higher Heel boot or a Lower Heeled boot they are the perfect winter look. I preferably go for a chunky lower heel simply because I find them more comfortable to wear. My ankle boots are actually from River Island and are so beautiful and comfortable (because they are lined with fur arghhhhh *gasps*) for the upcoming winter season and I would definitely recommend them.

|| BARRY M NAIL POLISH ||

Barry M have perfected the perfect Autumnal colours this year. I am in awe of their Paprika and Mustard Gelly Hi Shine colours. They are absolutely perfect for this season and I can't say much more about it. These were £3.99 each.

|| SMALL SHOULDER BAG ||

I have become a lover of a small shoulder bag and Primark seem to have the best range in this year. I am in adoration of the bag you can see above. It is so perfect and is beautifully lined on the inside as well. It has a long shoulder strap that works well across body also. It is beautifully embossed with what I make out to be a Indian Tribal style pattern. The lining inside is a beautiful paisley pattern with amazing Autumnal colours.  I think that cost around £9.

|| BOLD LIPS ||

I love Autumn//Winter so much because it is the time where darker lips are in. I am not really a fan of barbie pink lips and would always go for a statement red, therefor this season is my season. Dark Reds and Purples are my idea of heaven. I have so much love for dark colours and a one I am loving which I have pulled out from last winter is Topshop's 'Trigger". It is a beautiful dark red with brown undertones through it to cast off that beautiful winter look. The shade would suit anyone's complexion.

|| FINISHING TOUCHES ||

To finish off the look I added a Topshop necklace with some Black, Joni Jeans and a Primark overside, Boyfriend T-shirt. With a squirt of Black XS by Paco Rabanne.

I hope you enjoyed reading my Autumn // Winter Outfit Essentials, check out my Instagram and Twitter for more updates. -L

BABY, I LOVE YOU

Thursday, 23 October 2014

Hey guys!

So I thought I would quickly update you with a couple of things I have been loving at the moment, since my last blogpost was quite a while ago.

The first thing I have been loving is a really strange thing to love but I simply adore it. I recently purchased a small Marc by Marc Jacobs coin purse and it is the cutest and most adorable thing I own. I am in such adoration of it, literally mesmerised by it... For something so small, it makes me a whole lotta happy. I just keep my money and a few of my cards in this and it is a perfect size!

Boots recently had a 3 for 2 on L'oreal makeup and I ended up getting 3 of the Color Riche exclusive collection. I got two of the nudes; which were JLo's and Eva's and a red one by Blake (hottie). These literally are some of the nicest lipsticks I have ever tried, oh myy god! Soo good! I am super in love with the Blake one! The colour is perfect and I just love them all so much! I think these were about £8 each.

Another beauty type product I have been loving is the Barry M nail paint in Berry Cosmo! I recently have just grown of the phase where I put nail varnish on, then pick it off with in the next 2 hours (fingers crossed I last) and this nail varnish is a one I am loving on my nails at the moment. It is such as nice dark wintery colour (winter is upon us, so it's all good) and I adore it! This was £2.99 I think.

As everyone (in the world) pretty much knows that Zoe Sugg aka Zoella recently brought out her own beauty range and omg I love everything so much! I actually bought both of the makeup bags, the body mist and the Shower Gel // Bubble Bath and Fizz Bar and they are the prettiest and nicest things I have every smelt! I have no words. I am currently using the Guinea Pig makeup bag as a pencil case that is holding all of my pro-markers and pens and shizzle for college and the eye on is holding my everyday makeup. I love love love....

SNOW FAIRY IS BACK.... and it is the first time I have ever actually managed to get a my hands on a bottle and I am yet to use it but I just though I would put this in there because oh my god, It smells absolutely amazing!!

Lately I have heard alot about Emma Hardie's Amazing Face Cleansing Balm and I jumped on the bandwagon and purchased a an Emma Hardie starter set that included a 50ml Cleansing Balm, Muslin Cloth and Face Moisturisor. I do not have one regret for buy this, It is simply the best thing I have ever put on my face. If you are looking for something that you can use on sensitive skin, its fabulous and great for hydration, especially during winter time.

This is such a random thing to put in here but YO to the LO I am doing it anyways. I GOT A SIGNED DEMI LOVATO CD. I BLOODY LOVE IT. I have never met her or anything and I feel this is the closest I have been to her (other than being in the same country for a short period of time). This has just been released and iss uhhhmaazzing! Do buy it on iTunes.. #reallydontcare

It's starting to get really chilly outside, so I went to primark and bought the cutest mittens you could ever imagine. TAA DAA, GINGER BREADMEN, £2. That is all I am saying.

The last thing I have been really loving is my sketchers. I never actually thought I would own a pair of sketchers, but I now do and omg they are the most comfiest things ever. Wow. Normally I wouldn't go for pink or leopard print but there was just something about these that I just had to have then. Love, love, love...

I hoped you enjoyed reading this,, sorry for the crappy lighting in the pictures, please note I am doing this blog post at 10.30pm. Please follow me on twitter (laurynloganx) and instagram (laurynloganx) etc...

3 FAVOURITE JEWELLERY PIECES

Thursday, 14 August 2014

Hi guys!

I have seen a lot of people doing this blog post recently so I am joining in with it. These are my three current favourite jewellery/accessories items at the moment.

My first favourite is a newish thing and it is my baby. It's my Michael Kors watch which I purchased whilst on holiday in Florida in June. I have kind of planned buying a Michael Kors watch whilst I was over there but it depended on whether or not I could afford to buy and if there was a one I fell instantly love with. Luckily, there was 3 I had fallen in love with. One was a oversized silver runway chronograph watch with a blue face. Another was a oversized chunky black and silver one and the final one was a oversized black watch with gold hands and time markings. The final one was the watch I ended up going for after spending almost an hour in the Michael Kors shop deciding. The watch it's self was $180 without tax, it was so much cheaper compared to the pricing of them in the UK! As you can tell by the image, I still have the protector on the face because I am too scared to take it off in case I damage it (haha..) because I do wear it everyday. So far I haven't seen this model of the watch anywhere in the UK or online, so I am thankful I chose the one I did.

My next items are my Pandora rings! The first one I bought was my princess one. I bought this one a couple of months ago because I had a gift card for the shopping centre I bought it at. I love it, which is why I went on and bought another which I equally adore and it's my favourite colour. I bought the enamel ring in black so I could stack it with my princess one and I just love them. They are definitely worth the price and I wear them everyday!

Please excuse my horrendous nails and cuticles and btw, the ring on the ring finger is just a new buy Topshop which I am loving right now but it is not my top favourite.

My final favourite is my Cartier Love style bracelet. Obviously it not real because I could never afford a real one but it is close enough. I actually own three of these, 2 Gold and One Silver with the Diamantes. Because this bracelet is screwed onto my wrist I leave it on everyday but I honestly love it too much to take it off anyways. It goes with everything I wear and it is probably my favourite bracelet I have ever own. All of these bracelets I own I have purchased off Etsy and I know there are more places starting to now stocking them.

That is all for this week. I hope you enjoyed reading and love my top 3 jewellery pieces as much as me.

Winter Makeup Tutorial..

Tuesday, 5 November 2013

Aloha!

Welcome November! One month closer to Christmas! I have just learnt how to knit and Im currently trying to make a scarf, therefor it is christmas time! Today I have a winter make up tutorial since I'm off to a bonfire night tonight to celebrate Guy Fawkes and it is winter and freezing!!

The first thing I start with is washing my face, using Simple Moisturising Facial Wash. Followed by the Simple Moisturising Cream. I also apply my rosebud salve to moisturise my very very dry lips ready for lipstick at the end. Once a week I also exfoliate my skin with the Simple Exfoliating face wipes.
A prepared face.

From that stage I apply my foundation. The foundation i am using at the moment is the new L'oreal Nude Magique Eau De Tint. It is a very light liquid foundation. Normally I would use a brush to apply my foundation but because of how liquify (runny) this is I apply little bits to my finger tip and apply it like that. Once all my face is evenly covered, I then apply Collections Concealer to my under eyes and any necessary place for the extra little coverage. I normally use the Real Techniques dark shadow brush to dab it on and evenly spread.

Foundation and Concealer Done.

Moving onto my eyes. The first thing I do is primer my eyelids with the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion and also use the same brush as the concealer one, to spread it out. The three colours I use for my winter look is Sin, Toasted and Hustle. All three colours from the Naked Palette. Starting with Sin, I use the brush that comes with the palette and put it all over my eye lid, but no higher than the crease. After that, I take a one of my Frauline 58 eye shadow brushes and apply Toasted into the crease of my eye lid then Blend it with a different Frauline 58 brush. Taking a different smaller Frauline 58 brush I then add Hustle the outer side of my eye lid. Again blending with the before Frauline 58 brush.
Sin, Toasted and Hustle

After my eyeshadow is done I then add mascara and eyeliner. The mascara I am currently using is the Soap and Glory Thick and Fast and the MUA Liquid Waterproof Eyeline. Additionally, I also fill in my eyebrows with Betty Br-WOW! Using the Shadow like filler. I tend to give my eyebrow's structure there for use a very titled brush.

Finished Eyes.

Having finished my eyes I then quickly brush over with Collection's Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Powder. It keep everything in place. I use the Real Techniques Stippling Brush for this.

I don't like to go totally over on blusher so I only add a little bit of my Naked Blusher for a rosy cheek affect with the Real Techniques Blush Brush.

]

And the very last thing I do is add my Lipstick. I feel the YSL one is appropriate for winter because it has the Dark winter look about it.

And that's all to my Winter Makeup Tutorial. I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and have a great Bonfire night! Thanks for reading! -Lauryn xo

August Favourites..

Tuesday, 17 September 2013

Aloha Hoaloha,

I cant believe it is September already which means my birthday has been and passed, I have started my new life at college and on this current day it is only 98 days until christmas! So crazy! Its time to start planning my christmas list and digging out the wooly hats and scarfs. I thought I would share some of my favourite beauty items, clothing and other general favourites from last month!

The first thing I have been loving so much was the Naked pallet by Urban Decay which I bought on my summer vacation to Dubai. Where I embraced the magic of Sephora in the Dubai Mall. (MAGICAL) For a price of 263 Dirhams (abouts) which is about £45 in british pounds. I couldnt decide between which of the Naked pallets to get though. (Naked or Naked 2) So I went for the one that I thought was more me and got the first pallet. (Im currently saving for 'Naked 2') The colours in the first one are more my colours and style which is what I think pushed me to buy that one. My favourite shadow so far is 'Toasted' which I think is because I figured how to work that one and the shadow 'Sin' together.

The next item is Rimmel London's Wake Me Up Foundation in 200 'Soft Beige'. The foundation is great. I use it for everyday use, it has great coverage and gives a nice glow. It took me a while to figure out which colour was best for my skin tone, but I later figured I could wear the 'Soft Beige' or 'True Ivory' which I believe is the next shade down.

Baby Lips also by Rimmel London are some great lip balms I purchased last month. Cherry Me, Peach Kiss and Pink Punch are the three that I bought yet my favourite is Cherry Me. It has a great colour and lasts for a good amount of time. As well as smelling amazing. Each of these price at £3.99 each and can be found in stores like Superdrug.
Peach Kiss, Pink Punch, Cherry Me Baby Lips £3.99 each
Another one of my August favourites was Real Technique Brushes. I only recently bought these brushes out of birthday money but had to add them into this as everyone should know about these. So, I got the Shadow Brush, Powder/Blush Brush and Foundation brush. These have been so good (really soft!). I bought them as a pack from Superdrug for £20.99.
Real Technique Brushes £20.99
Also, the next thing I have always used because it is just my life saviour! Simple skin care range is just FABULOUS! I have never loved a product as much as I love simple. I use their 'Kind to skin hydrating light moisturiser' and the 'Face wash'. I found I cant use many skin products for washing my face and so on. Clearasil face wash really dry's my skin and irritates it as do many others but simple is just amazing, its leaves my skin so soft and clear. I rarely have outbreaks of spots! These can be bought from anywhere, stores like Superdrug, Boots, Asda, Tescos all supply these.
Simple kind to skin moisturiser
Fudge Urban is another great product I have discovered. Recently I got about 5 inches cut off my hair so it is now just below my shoulder because I fancied a change and had seen a really nice styled hair that I wanted. I found the Sea Salt spray of the Fudge Urban brand is great for giving my hair the texture of beachy waves that I want considering my hair is naturally straight (very straight). It almost gives my really loose curls which I think is really great! It also smells really good, great for those of you who love coconut scents! This is currently £6.99 in stores but I purchased it on a buy one get on half price deal.

As a starting college present I also got some amazing boots from River Island. I had been wanting a pair of these for ages! The cut out boots! I had saw Miley Cyrus wearing a pair early on this year, and found them on Barney's. The really sad part is that they were £1,250 or something ridiculous like that! Then Topshop started doing them and they were still like £100 but then River Island brought out this pair for £45. (This is a party dance moment) They go with almost (if not) everything and they are so comfy! Best Present Ever!
River Island cut out boots £45
The final thing I have been loving a lot, is an album which came out earlier this year. For many of you that know me very well will already have an understanding of what might be coming. 'Demi' by Demi Lovato is quite possibly one of the greatest albums I have heard this year. Not just because I love her so much but because all of the songs are pretty relatable and its one of those albums that can be great for whatever mood your in. It is seriously a great album. I highly recommend it!

So thats all of my favourites from last month! Im going to try do a blog post each week, so every week a new blog post should be up on a Tuesday!

Thanks for reading guys!
