3 FAVOURITE JEWELLERY PIECES

Thursday, 14 August 2014

Hi guys!

I have seen a lot of people doing this blog post recently so I am joining in with it. These are my three current favourite jewellery/accessories items at the moment.

My first favourite is a newish thing and it is my baby. It's my Michael Kors watch which I purchased whilst on holiday in Florida in June. I have kind of planned buying a Michael Kors watch whilst I was over there but it depended on whether or not I could afford to buy and if there was a one I fell instantly love with. Luckily, there was 3 I had fallen in love with. One was a oversized silver runway chronograph watch with a blue face. Another was a oversized chunky black and silver one and the final one was a oversized black watch with gold hands and time markings. The final one was the watch I ended up going for after spending almost an hour in the Michael Kors shop deciding. The watch it's self was $180 without tax, it was so much cheaper compared to the pricing of them in the UK! As you can tell by the image, I still have the protector on the face because I am too scared to take it off in case I damage it (haha..) because I do wear it everyday. So far I haven't seen this model of the watch anywhere in the UK or online, so I am thankful I chose the one I did.

My next items are my Pandora rings! The first one I bought was my princess one. I bought this one a couple of months ago because I had a gift card for the shopping centre I bought it at. I love it, which is why I went on and bought another which I equally adore and it's my favourite colour. I bought the enamel ring in black so I could stack it with my princess one and I just love them. They are definitely worth the price and I wear them everyday!

Please excuse my horrendous nails and cuticles and btw, the ring on the ring finger is just a new buy Topshop which I am loving right now but it is not my top favourite.

My final favourite is my Cartier Love style bracelet. Obviously it not real because I could never afford a real one but it is close enough. I actually own three of these, 2 Gold and One Silver with the Diamantes. Because this bracelet is screwed onto my wrist I leave it on everyday but I honestly love it too much to take it off anyways. It goes with everything I wear and it is probably my favourite bracelet I have ever own. All of these bracelets I own I have purchased off Etsy and I know there are more places starting to now stocking them.

That is all for this week. I hope you enjoyed reading and love my top 3 jewellery pieces as much as me.

Long time // No see

Wednesday, 14 May 2014

Aloha,

So yesterday I attended Newcastle Fashion week's Northumbria University Graduate show. It was amazing. All of the work produced by the students were amazing, I would buy it all straight away if I could. It was very inspiring and with my FMP coming up I intend on using the images I got and what I saw as inspiration. Having seen this show and done my works experience at Northumbria University, yestderday made my mind set on being a Fashion Design student at Northumbria. The pieces created were absolutely amazing and you could definetly see where their inspiration came from.  Below are some of my favourite pieces.

It was such a good day and I would really reccomend it for any whom is wanting to go into fashion in the future or even if you go just for fun. An excellent day.

HAPPY 2014

I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and A Great New Year! My resolutions last year were pretty same old -not going to stick to- resolutions. This  I owe it to myself to be more thorough in what I want from 2014 and try and at least stick to them.

Get Healthy & Feel happy

The one thing I really want to succeed in this year is dropping a dress size or two. I am very uncomfortable in my body and to be happy means I need to get healthier and drop a couple of pounds. My metabolism is definitely not what it was when I was four and running to nursery and back. I can't even run up the stairs without having a near death experience. This must change. It's time to change my lazy habits and train as though Im competing in the Olympics. Happiness is the key.

BE AN OPEN BOOK

Last year, my diet was always going to start the next day. I would push out the things that I didn't want to do  or in the case of a diet, I just enjoyed the chocolate to much. This year, for my self I want to feel comfortable and not push the things that I am wanting to do into the back of me and leave them there until the next year. I kept a lot of struggles to my self and found out that, that would never work out for the best. There for I want to be able to be an open person and fight for myself in the terms of getting what I want.

Get rid of the junk in my life

I have a lot of fake friends or people that I have discovered are always gonna push me down and trail me like a dog. I need to get rid of these people and start preparing for a better life of real friends that are going to want to be there for me and are actually a best friend. I also need to get rid of the hoarder 'crap' I have built up in my room, where it be: clothes, shoes, old magazines or whatever. I need a clear room environment for a fresh start into 2014.

GET my drivers LICENSE

I have been learning to drive since last september yet, I still haven't done my theory, It's time I got over my fear and just put in for it, so I can go on and get my driving license. Broooooom!

Another thing I want to achieve in 2014, GET A JOB! I desperately need a job and I'm sick of being nagged by my mum. This is defiantly a priority.

Thanks for reading guys. I hope you can achieve your New Years resolutions! -lauryn

Rimmel London Apocalips Review

Sunday, 8 December 2013

Aloha,

A day late, but better than never. I did say I would try and do a blog post yesterday but it turned out I had a busy day. And then today, we had a christmas party at my dads and there was a lot of people and screaming children and just oh, overheating in my christmas jumper! So, I am only now getting around to writing this. (Whilst watching X-men: First Class -Jennifer Lawrence (perfection) wow)

I bought the Apocolips a few weeks ago just to try it out and for something different. Although its christmas time, I bought it in '400 Big Bang' which is a bright red. Normally for winter I would wear a dark lipstick, like a plum. But red is a christmas related colour so, who cares.

The liquid lipstick, last's for such a long time but I also find that it kind of stains your lips. Therefor, if I don't apply it correctly the first time (as I normally don't) I will walk around like a clown until it fades away.

When applied I find it goes a bit matte as well as having a tiny bit shine to it. When on the lips, it doesn't fully dry which means it is very easily smudged when coming into contact with things. I often find I run it all over my face. I don't even know how.  They are available in another several different colours; Apocaliptic, Big Bang, Nova, Stellar, Galaxy, Celestial, Luna and Nude Eclipse.

Overall, I think that the apocalips products are fantastic. The packaging is lovely and the colours are great also. I would recommend them.

Thanks for reading, Im sorry about the lateness of this post and the fact that my last ones have been so crappy. I promise to try and do better. -Lauryn xo

Ps. Here are picture's of my two favourite people ever. In the world.

Christmas Time...

Wednesday, 4 December 2013

Aloha,

So sorry about the lateness of the post, I was at work yesterday so I never got around to it. Although when I finished work I did put up christmas decorations in my room. Although it's not a lot, I wanted to share it.

Today in college we sold craft things such as christmas decor and cakes which we have been making for our second term assignment.

Thanks for reading this very very short blog post. Hopefully I will be doing another on saturday. Fingers crossed.

Everyday Hair..

Tuesday, 26 November 2013

Aloha,

38 days! I have the Christmas album on right now whilst preparing to go finally see 'Catching Fire' and for a Nandos! Yum!

Anyways, this week is how I do my everyday messy/natural look hair. I start by washing my hair in the shower the night before with Herbal Essence's Tousle Look shampoo and conditioner. I always leave my  hair to dry naturally if I have washed it on a night because heat really damages it and it goes really fluffy.
Before Brushing
After Brushing

The next morning, I will give it a quick brush with my tangle teezer or princess hairbrush and give it a generous skirt of Fudge Urban Sea Salt spray. Which gives my hair texture and 'beach hair'. Quickly after just applying this to my hair, I then flip my head and hair around very crazily and grab all of my hair and scrunch it up and then just drop it so it looks like messy waves. Because the hold on the sea salt spray is not very lasting, I then follow it up with the Texture Blast spray also from Fudge Urban. The texture blaster is very firm so I only use the tiniest amount other wise it practically cements your hair together.

And that finishes my daily hair routine, which basically means I can't really be bother to do anything creative with my hair today.

Thanks for reading! -lauryn xo
