Shoe Of The Month: STAN SMITHS

Monday, 6 April 2015

This month I am feeling really thankful I have small-ish feet. Well small enough feet that I can still buy kids sized trainers. Although I am a size 5, certain shoe shops sizing enables me to be able to buy from the kiddies section. Which means cheaper shoes- THANKYOU GOD. So this meant, I could buy my self some Stan Smiths.

I have eagerly wanted a pair of Stan Smiths since I saw Megan Ellaby had purchased some. I kind of fell in love..

Although they absolutely wrecked the back of my foot at first, I have now over come the blisters and adore them. They are a very comfortable pair of shoes that look fab on. Although I should not have really bought them (saving/car insurance) I do not regret it at all. I can't particulalry explain why I went for green but I and I actually really love the colour.

ZIP THE TYNE LINE

Sunday, 22 March 2015

Last year, I sadly lost my Grandpa due to several strokes and other medical issues. Last Saturday would have been his 80th birthday, although he would have argued with me that he was not actually that old.

To wish him a happy birthday in a way he would absolutely despise, I zip-lines across the River Tyne (Newcastle) in order to raise money for the Stroke Association. This may have been one of the best decisions I have ever made. It was literally so much fun yet if you have a fear of heights or water or anything that involves you being harnessed onto something, then it is probably not for you. Previously I have abseiled off the Transporter Bridge in Teeside(twice) and I loved that so I figured I would love this too.

After a while of convincing my aunty, we signed up and started the fund raising process. In the run up to the event, I managed to raise just over £100 in cash and also set up on an online sponsor page. My sponsor page is still running if you would like to donate any money to the cause.

I arrived on the morning of Saturday 14th and after waiting an hour, I was harnessed up and lead up to the roof of the Baltic.  Whilst up the top it was absolutely freezing, but had the most beautiful view of Newcastle/Quay Side which I managed to get a quick snap of whilst being clipped onto the safety line. I was the third in line to be clipped into the Zip Line, with my aunt behind me, eagerly waiting for my turn. I must have been the only one excited to go down..

When it came to it, the guy unclipped me from the safety line and I walked across to the edge of the Baltic roof, he clipped my safety line onto the zip line then had me sit on the edge of the building whilst he set up my zip-wire trolley. Once I was set up I had a couple of minutes wait whilst the guys at the other end prepare for my arrival. Then suddenly, the guy just said "Go" So off I jumped. I literally jumped off the top of the Baltic and soared across the Tyne. Not that I could see much because I was spinning and attempting to do something funny for my family watching me at the other side.

The next thing I remember seeing was the guys at the finish point all up in my face like "why are you not shaking", "you are the happiest person that has come down here" as I landed on the scaffolding and got unclipped.

This was literally the best experience ever and I am so desperate to do it again. Not only was it loads of fun it was for a cause close to my heart, which makes it extra special. If anyone is thinking of doing any event like this, I would say just go for it and have fun. It is amazing and you will not regret it. Even my aunt, who was petrified, loved it so much she is desperate to do it again.

LUST...

Tuesday, 17 March 2015

I am pretty much lusting over nearly everything on ASOS at the moment. I wish I had money to buy everything, but reality check - I don't. Instead I dream about owning/wearing items. Such as these ASOS Biker Wellies. If I was going to a festival this year - as of yet I am not -  they would be a necessity. They are so beautiful, I am not a type for quirky wellies at all, I will stick with Black, Biker wellies any day. I can literally picture myself wearing those...

NARS Sheer Glow is another product I am longing to purchase and try. All the reviews I have ever heard about it have been fabulous and its definitely something I am ready to try. (saves pennies)

Another pair of shoes I am loving from ASOS are the  Lace Up Leather shoes. They are so different from other styles I have seen in the likes of Topshop, which are more girlier. The Doc style mixed with the cut out is fabuLOUS!

I am not sure as to what has come over me lately but I am loving metallic/glittery things. I literally feel like a magpie, attracted to shiny things! Vans are the ultimate trainers as well so logically it makes sense that I am lusting over these a HELLA lot...!

Kylie Minogue is on tour again as ya'll should know and I saw her last November- best night ever! And to support her new album Kiss Me Once and Tour also named after her new album she teamed with Uslu Airlines (Berlin Based cosmetic line) to create the Kiss Me Once Lipstick. Although I have a million other red lipsticks, I don't have a Kylie lipstick, so obviously I'm craving it badly.

Topshop's Yellow Rain Mac is something I must add to my wardrobe. It have the perfect festival vibe going on with the bright, yellow and black/white gingham lining. Although I have a similar rain coat from Topshop already, I don't have this exact one. Do you feel me?

Once again my lusting's are mainly shoes, I obviously have a passion for shoe's! I own far to many pairs, oops. #notsorry

February Favourites..

Sunday, 8 March 2015

Alow, alow

Has January and February actually been and gone already? Apparently it has.

1. LOVE SIA. I am so in love with Sia at the moment, especially her new single Elastic Heart. I love everything about it. Especially her performance at the Grammy's with Maddie Ziegler and Kristen Wiig. Can I just point out how flawless Sia and Maddie looked on the red carpet too. Completely loving the tailored suits and matching wigs!

2. LOVE TANYA has become my bible. It is absolutely fabulous. Beauty, Friendship and Confidence are just a handful at Tanya's insight of the world and her perspective on things.

3. H&M SHORT COAT. I bought this a little while ago for £30 and I swear I never take it off. It goes with anything and everything so I just kind of wear it everyday. It's black, collarless, slouchy blazer sitting above the knee.

4. STELLA, STELLA McCARTNEY. I got this perfume for Christmas off my dad after desperately wanting it for as long as I can remember. I literally treasure it but am so scared to use it because my adoration for it. So it's a "very special occasion' fragrance.

5. ONE THE RUN, URBAN DECAY PALETTE. This is something I have been loving since I received it. The colours are so good for a day time look or a night time look or transiting day-night. Complete with everything you need such as naked lip gloss,  perversion mascara and the flushed palette. It's a Limited Edition palette so grab it whilst you can! (£37)

6. NIKE AIR PEGASUS 30 CHEETAHI nearly returned these when I first purchased them but then something changed my mind and thank god for that! These trainers are another thing I have been getting a lot of wear out of lately, not necessarily for the gym but still... They are unbelievably comfy and black so they are my kind of thing. I am not sure if these are still available in store or not.

7. ROLLERLASH BY BENEFIT. As everyone else, in the world, I bought Elle last month for the Benefit Roller lash tester (and Keira Knightly was on the cover so it was a win win really..).  I was not sure how much I would love/hate Roller lash because I am not the biggest fan of They're Real yet I have fallen in love with Roller Lash. It is definitely something on my to-purchase list! It gives me a really nice set of eyelashes without clagging. This is in-stores now for £19.50.

That's all for February!

DREAM ROOM

Friday, 6 March 2015

In college I am currently creating an exhibition for my final collection and looking at how I can design the space really made me think about how I would design my bedroom or what ever room, whenever I eventually move out. So I ended up on Pinterest and Tumblr and found some amazing bedrooms!

DOLCE AND GABBANA SUMMER 2015

Tuesday, 10 February 2015

I have never known any love like it. My love for Dolce and Gabbana's new Summer collection is frankly overwhelming. Every piece is beautiful and bare's exquisit, lace smothered, embroidered and bejewelled detailing. The colour palette of black with pops of red and white works extremely well, enforcing the Spanish influence that lead to their beautiful outcome at Milan Fashion Week.

BONIFIRE NIGHT

Thursday, 6 November 2014

Hi guys!

So obviously everyone in the UK knows November 5th means one thing. Bonfire night; Wooly jumpers, hats and scarfs and freezing your but off to watch some beautiful fireworks.

I thought I would just share some of the images I caught and also share my bonfire night outfit choice. I went for some Slit Knee (brightest idea???), Joni jeans from Topshop in the Dark Blue and a oversized jumper from Primark. The jumper is so warm and cosy and is a medium Grey colour with really cute White hearts on it. I also wore a Black, Topshop Parka with suited the outfit nicely. I paired this with a Primark scarf that is huge and double sided. On one side it is dark Red and Blue Tartan and on the other side a Black and Red check pattern. Perfect for the cold winter nights and a Mickey Mouse knitted hat. Im am not entirely sure where this is from because my mum bought it for me because Beyonce has it.... Thanks mum! On my feet I wore some Topshop biker styled boots that have a fur lining to keep my feet warm.

Overall, I would say Halloween/Bonfire Night is the best part of the year. Watching fireworks with your best friends is one of the best things in the world! - cliche much?
